Fidelis

Parishioners have put together a print newsletter, Fidelis, for those who may not have access to a computer. There's some pertinent and timely information about SOP, Friends of St. Vincent's and our church's proposed sale to Providence Housing Development Corporation.

If you know of someone who would like a copy, do print one out, or let us know and we will be sure to get one to whoever is interested. Email us at admin@savingourparish.com.

  1. This is a very well-written newsletter. No fingers were directly pointed, no personal attacking...just good information. This is a step in the right direction. Parishioners who have a heart to save Saint Vincent's need to get on board. Unfortunately, this is finally, and truly, about finances. We need money for a canon lawyer. Period.

  2. I did not see this well written positive newsletter about finances only. The overall picture I see is people interested in saving St. Vincent's church and therefore the community that worships together there. The newsletter is asking those who share this vision, need, or desire to join with them and write letters to express your desire to preserve the church. It also asks,if one can, to help defray expenses for an appeals process which very well could be needed. However, the potential for an appeal could be lessened if we who do not agree with the decision the council, facilities committee and finance committee "unamiously " made with so little input from us. The newsletter encourages us to let our displeasure known to Providence Housing and the Bishop. A little time and 44 cents is better than the cost of an appeals process.

  3. I will write a letter. I will also send you the money that I had planned to put in the Easter collection basket but withheld after being subjected to lay preaching.
