  1. Another James Callan. We went to a few of the All Saints Life teen masses- too much focus on the music, too much feel-good stuff, not enough meat and definitely not well attended. The kids don't even like something that is meant to cater to teens. Someone said that the parish spends several thousand dollars a year to offer the Life Teen program- poor stewardship.

  2. In a thriving parish, you can justify the extra expenses, like Life Teen but we are not thriving, according to leadership, we are barely surviving, so I say get rid of the frills and practice what we are preaching.

  3. We sent some youth to the National Catholic Youth Conference last year. Their favourite things? Jason and Crystalina Evert's talks on Theology of the Body and the Eucharistic Procession/Adoration. Kids sure do hate orthodox Catholicism and much prefer kumbayah Catholicism...er...oops!

  4. Matt- You are exactly right. Nothing or no one can reach into the hearts and souls of our teens like Jesus Christ himself does, through adoration or through the holy Mass. To those who think that it is the music, the motions, the comedian at the pulpit or the otherwise whimsical activites that our teens are exposed to, how wrong they are. Always, always, they search for Jesus Christ.
