Now is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back to give us that chance. It won’t last forever. We must take it or leave it. – C.S. Lewis
Sorry but don't you think things are progressing as planned and that nobody has any intention of preserving our parish? I think the message from Rochester and at the parish level has been loud and clear. NO WAY, JOSE.
If things have been too quiet that would indicate maybe its time to make some noise! I would like to invite everyone who is concerned about the closure and destruction of St. Vincent de Pauls Church to let your voices be heard. Please, do not sit back and wait for something to happen. There are alot of people out there who say "its a done deal," or "its too late," neither of these are true. We need EVERYONE who shares the concerns of the SOP group to unite and be heard!!
I apologize for my unrelated question. Today at 11:30 St. Mary's and at other times I've heard, the organist kept playing when Fr. Breen began praying. Has anyone noticed this or was it just a random mix up? I'm just wondering? It would be more respectful if the organist would stop playing sooner.
According to the Jan. 16 bulletin: "Currently we are in the final stages of negotiation of the sales agreement. Once an agreement is reached, a recommendation will go to the Bishop. If timing goes well, then Providence Housing Development will apply to New York State for funding this February. Notification of those grants will go out in August." So we should hear something very soon. If PH misses the Feb deadline, they have to wait for another year.
Just what does final stages mean anyway. It wouild make some think an agreement is imminent. Well, according to Providence's latest report, they are still "mulling" over plans for the St. Vincent campus. Why can't the leadership of ASP be a little more forthcoming in his remarks. I am so tired of the mis-information or the limited information to people who have a right to know for it is their church and by the way, an open and upright leader has the obligation to keep his people informed. I would suggest he read some of Robert Greenleaf's works especially Steward Leadership and that was written for corporations but truly fits church.
Is there any word from Providence House, the Diocese, or the powers that be on what is going on...things seem to be to quiet????

ReplyDeleteWho is the organist now?
ReplyDeleteFrom what I have heard there has not been a response from Providence House.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip. I agree with Cleansingfire: the longer it takes, the better. A new bishop is coming in the summer of 2012....
