Really? Really?

Immaculate Heart of Mary: assessed at $420,000. Asking price----around that number.  We have been told that  'technically' IHM is not up for sale at this point.

St. Vincent Catholic Church: assessed at $2.1 million. Asking price--$350,000. Was never up for sale.

Such a deal.

  1. Gretchen, was that a typo? I think you meant to write steal not deal.

  2. This makes no sense but little sense is made in the parish decison making process. But really, is this true? Who and when was Saint Vincent;s assessed for $2.1 million and who would be foolish or desperate enough to consider an offer in the $350,000 range?

  3. It's true, all in public tax records in Bath, look it up for yourself, I did.

  4. Perhaps the question is 'Why would anyone accept such an offer?'

  5. One thing's for certain, we all can choose what church or local law firm we support.

  6. This is true you can make that choice; but what I will pray for is the community choose to colaborate with the saving our parish group. They seem to be the ones with the facts. They have put those facts out on this website for all to see. There are obviously other media forums to use such as the local newspaper (or the pulpit) but it seems to me they are controlling exactly what it is they want everyone to know. Pray today; that our voices will be heard; that the bishop will listen and the church that I have attended for the last 65 years will be saved.

  7. So let me get this straight, Immaculate Heart can be sold for somewhere near its assessed value and that is what interested parties that have looked at it have been told. If "technichally" it is not up for sale; then why is that HUGE FOR SALE sign sitting in the front lawn? St. Vincents on the other hand can be given away for less than what it took to build and furnish it 55 years ago a mere $350,000. on a property assessed for TWO POINT ONE MILLION !!!

  8. One thing more, Deacon Dean told people no one is interested, however the pastor from The Chinese Christian Church did go through it and liked it, but the price was too high.

  9. With the dark web of deceit that has been woven over the months, who can believe anything he says?..not even his inner circle.

  10. If you have the same parties on both sides of the transaction or family members and agents it is pretty easy to see how such a sweat deal canbe made to the disadvantage of the Parishioners. If it were for the "religious" nature of this tranaction every one and any one would be saying something smells really bad and this is one corrupt game being played. CONFLICT OF INTEREST. Violation of pastorial duties. Violation of fiduciary duties. Violation of the trust and responsibilties that were entrusted. I stated again, "the flock is being herded not heard."
