"Under Bishops Sheen and Hogan, the Diocese of Rochester had firmly embraced Vatican II. As members of the first class of permanent deacons slated to be ordained two years later, our excitement was slightly tinged with apprehension. At your first meeting with deacon candidates and spouses, someone asked, "Bishop Clark, will you be a bishop of The Church or of The People of God?" The room grew silent as all looked to see how red your face would become. But, instead of anger, your expression was instead one of bafflement. "I don’t really understand the question," I recall you saying. "The Church IS the People of God."

ReplyDeleteMere propaganda, from a deacon, aimed to divert attention from the majority consensus of the Diocese which is GOOD RIDDANCE BISHOP CLARKE.
I will not miss Bishop Clark’s weak leadership or his liberal interpretation of Catholic teaching. I look forward to our new Bishop and pray that he strengthens the Catholic communities of Central NY. Our Priests need to be on the forefront of our parishes, not the deacons and nuns. Sacraments and sermons should be conducted by our priests. All lesser clergy should assist the priest in these endeavors. This is not the Catholic Church that I or my forefathers grew-up in. Take back our Church!
Goodbye Bishop Clark! Goodbye deacon!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Deacon Ray. I have never seen Bishop Clark return insult for insult. No way. He just went right on quietly yet boldly wrecking parishes and dismantling the faith.

Pray that our new Bishop will give the leadership of the faithful back to our Pastors and assign a back row seat to only those deacons wanting to be something greater.For all of us wanting to "come home", the time is almost here! Our Blessed Mother is interceding once again!

ReplyDeleteAnonymous 9:57, the post had NOTHING TO DO WITH Deacon Condon. As to Presbyterianism, I would only say that it is a tragedy each and every time a Catholic abandons the Faith. Are you implying that differences between Catholics has more to do with your faith (or lack of) than receiving the Lord in the Eucharist? I will pray for you.
