Rejoice!

It is the third Sunday in Advent--Gaudete Sunday. The Lord is coming!

On a more sober note, Fr. Tony spoke of the evils of abortion in the homily this morning. You could hear a pin drop. I was grateful to hear abortion denounced from the pulpit. If you get a chance, thank Fr. Tony. The last time I heard it mentioned was a couple years ago when Deacon Dean gave a passionate sermon denouncing it. Needed then. Needed now.

  1. Indeed, Fr. Tony did a nice job, but the music was outright horrible. Can we not as a Parish do better than this?

  2. I love it when Fr. Breen says it like it is. I feel bad for the traditional vocalists who have to struggle to keep up with a jazz pianist. That style is inappropriate in a Catholic church. The pianist may be accomplished but so was Liberace - gag!

  3. During a recent parish funeral mass, the music selection included "Jesus Loves Me". For real.

  4. The choir was so busy with their pre-mass 'show' that they started the entrance hymn late. You could hear them talking and laughing before and after the mass. There was no way one could pray quietly.
