A Terrible Beauty

The first photo is of a church in Germany damaged by Allied bombs. The other is of a church in Italy with an American soldier gazing at the altar of God.

And here we are in 2011, with no bombs falling in our prosperous little valley, with 2,500 Catholic families on the rolls, and our own leadership is selling off the Houses of God. Doesn't it make you just the least bit sick to your stomach?
